How we collect, use, and protect the information you share with us.
Kolstad Insurance Services, LLC is an independent insurance agency in Jacksonville, North Carolina. This policy explains what we collect through kolstadins.com, why we collect it, and who it goes to. If anything here is unclear, call us at 910-378-1378 and ask. We would rather explain it than have you guess.
When you request a quote, use our contact form, or start a chat, you provide information such as your name, ZIP code, phone number, email address, what you would like covered, and how you prefer to be reached. If you go on to become a client, we collect the additional information needed to quote and service your policies, which in insurance is called nonpublic personal information.
We run our own analytics on this site rather than handing your browsing to an outside ad network. It records pages viewed, page titles, the site that referred you, campaign tags in the link you arrived from, whether you are on mobile or desktop, and roughly how long a page stayed open. It does not use cookies and does not capture what you type into forms.
To recognize a returning visitor, our analytics and chat widget store a random identifier in your browser under the name kolstad_visitor_id. It is a random string. It is not your name, and it is not tied to your identity unless you separately give us your contact information.
We use what you give us to respond to your request, shop your coverage with the carriers we represent, service your policies, and stay in touch about your account. When you submit a quote request, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text, or email about it. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
We use the automatic information to understand which pages and campaigns bring people to us so we can improve the site.
We do not sell your information. We share it in three situations: with the insurance carriers and wholesalers we approach on your behalf, so they can quote and issue your coverage; with the service providers that run this site and our office systems; and where the law requires it.
The service providers involved in this website are Netlify, which hosts the site and receives form submissions, and Resend, which delivers those submissions to our office inbox. Our homepage displays a Google reviews widget served by EmbedSocial, and our contact page embeds a Google map. Those two are loaded from outside companies, so visiting a page that contains them means your browser contacts Google or EmbedSocial directly and their own privacy terms apply to that contact.
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to client information inside our office is limited to the licensed staff and support personnel who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we treat your information the way we would want ours treated.
You can ask us what we have, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Call 910-378-1378 or email office@kolstadins.com and a person at our office will handle it. You can also clear your browser storage at any time, which removes the visitor identifier described above.
Note that policies already in force are governed by the carrier's own privacy practices as well as ours, and carriers keep their own records.
This site is meant for adults shopping for insurance. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, call us and we will remove it.
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date below.
